“The most meaningful days of my life were when God walked me through the endless trials, the sleepless nights, and the consequences of my bad decisions,” comments Charlie Hall, Christian singer and composer, whose concert was held at the Calvary Chapel Theatre last Friday night. Despite the fact that he was raised in a Christian home, and left the church in eighth grade, God revealed Himself to Charlie when he was seventeen years of age and now, Charlie has found a new calling in life and is writing songs that are actually prayers for his life.
There are different reasons why artists create lyrics in the way that they do, and for Charlie there’s only one way. His inspiration, he says, comes from the Word of God, and by capturing the essence of a word and then building that into a song that hopefully impacts with a simple message.
During his concerts, the energetic, easy going worship leader speaks truths to generations stating, “Psalms 27:4(NIV) reads, ‘One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.’ This applies both to our current lives and to our futures!”
Charlie’s mission for him and his band is to reach out to the broken and unsaved with music that hopefully appeals to the ears of non-Christians. The band tours various states and even travels out of the country periodically on their tours, which last for about ten spirit-filled days. The concert held at the Calvary Chapel Theatre last Friday was a wonderful time of worship, tears, laughter, music, and fellowship. For those who were able to attend, they walked away with an incredible sense that God was truly present that night. “He is a truly an anointed man,” said Suzi Zweiban of Calvary Chapel. “God speaks through his gift of music.”
Pray for Charlie and the band members, wives, and children as they continually follow God’s calling on their lives and embrace opportunities to share His love through music.
Psalms 150:6 says, “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.”
