Lunchtime Revolution

“Father, tear our walls down. We hide behind so many motions and exhausting, half-hearted statements. ‘I’ll pray for you,’ ‘God bless.’ Since when did my faith follow a script? Take me, Lord, from this maze of expectations. I need to find my way back to You.”

Every Friday, CCA students join together in Ms. Noemi Klipfel’s room for a time of prayer—a time to intercede on behalf of this school, pleading God to revive the heart of the student body. “I hope to see the power of prayer manifest through changed lives. From an encouraging conversation to a simple prayer, some students are starting to come alongside their peers and encourage them as they seek to follow Christ,” explains co-founder Danielle Germaine.

Following the recent missions trip to Mexico, seniors Danielle Germaine and Rebecca Urrutia created the weekly prayer group to continue God’s work in a setting closer to home. “I really felt like God was telling me that our mission wasn’t over. Why stop praying when there are so many people around us that are missing out on a passionate and real relationship with Christ?” continues Rebecca Urrutia.

The group is open to grades 9-12, and all are encouraged to come.

“If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray…” (2 Chronicles 7:14). The biggest change possible is that of healing and redemption. Whether individually or as a community, that reconnection between Creator and creation is revolutionary, and lives will change as a result.

To be a part of that change, please join your classmates Fridays during lunch in the art room. If you have any questions, contact either Rebecca Urrutia at Rurrutia@ccaeagles.org or Danielle Germaine at  Dgermaine@ccaeagles.org.
