In order to prepare for the Olympics—in public transport, financing, ticketing, volunteers, security, medals, test events, tourism, etc.—the UK has made necessary accommodations of the Games; they have built multiple arenas to hold the various competitions, such as a brand new aquatics center and an over-the-top Olympic Arena.
Fifteen percent of the world’s population tuned into watch the previous Opening Ceremonies in Beijing during the Summer 2008 Olympics. Despite the amount of pressure on Great Britain to reach the caliber of China’s performance, the UK has ensured us that we will not be disappointed.
